Overview

Summary:

Dr. Stilwell obtained her DVM degree from Auburn University in 2010. Following veterinary school, she completed an MS degree focusing on ornamental fish health (2012) and a PhD degree in aquatic animal virology (2017) at the University of Florida. Dr. Stilwell ran an aquatic diagnostic business from 2018-2020, where she saw approximately 350 fish cases per year. Prior to joining the MSU-CVM, she completed a postdoctoral research program with the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study (SCWDS), based at the University of Georgia (2019-2021).

Dr. Stilwell's career focus is the health, diseases, and husbandry of fish, amphibians, reptiles, and other aquatic species. She serves as course leader for the MSU-CVM's Special Species and Marine Life courses.
