Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security

Two veterinarian instructors and a student test some water.

The Global Center for Aquatic Health and Food Security (GCAHFS) at Mississippi State University was founded to leverage the University’s aquatic food security expertise, developed in support of Mississippi aquaculture production, to pursue international development in the area. The Center is led by Dr. Mark Lawrence and Dr. Stephen Reichley, and is affiliated with the College of Veterinary Medicine. The Center houses the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Reference Center on Antimicrobial Resistance and Aquaculture Biosecurity, Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Fish, and the Gulf Coast Aquatic Health Lab. More information GCAHFS can be found at www.gcahfs.msstate.edu.
